There are nine members of the Hlbocký family: father Peter, mother Katarína and our seven children - Jožko, Mária, Anička, Peťka, Miško, Jurko and Martinko. The heart of the ensemble are parents Peter and Katarína, who were the members of SĽUK for many years. We try to put love to folk songs to the hearts of our children who study singing and playing the musical instruments at the Music School in Piešťany.

    The repertoire of our family group consists of different Slovak folk songs and during Christmas time there are Christmas songs and carols from the whole Slovakia. We perform the songs with the accompaniment of different musical instruments and there is a demonstration of musical instruments such as a shepherd’s pipe, a pipe “koncovka“, a pipe with six holes, a pipe “dvojačka“, “drumbľa“, a saw, bagpipes, “mrmlák“, flutes, a violin, a violoncello,”ninera” and “ozembuch“.

    We take part in different cultural events such as cultural events organised by the council, festivals, balls, village fairs, company’s parties, jubilees, wedding receptions etc. We are a frequent guest of the Slovak Health Spa Piešťany and Trenčianske Teplice, where we try to bring pleasure to spa guests and we present them the richness and difference of folk songs and musical instruments in Slovakia. We also perform in the churches where we play music during the holy mass. After the holy mass we usually have our concert. We can adapt the programme to the request of the customer. The length of the programme can be from 30 minutes to 120 minutes with a break, with the accompanying word in the Slovak, German and English language. The programme is adapted to the season of the year - during the year there are several periods for example Easter, spring, Christmas in which we perform songs with the topical themes.

    The whole family performs in special national costumes which come from different regions of Slovakia. So far we have recorded two CDs. The first CD “Gajdujte, gajdičky” ( the bagpipes play) and the second with Christmas carols “Nesieme vám novinu” (we bring you the news). Our effort is shown in the success not only at home with the inhabitants and visitors to Piešťany but also other towns and villages in Slovakia are interested in our performances. We have come across a favourable response to our performances also abroad, in Austria and Italy.
